What's the nosebleed situation like in your house in this weather?

The heat is triggering them in this house. 11yr old DS keeps getting them every time he has a huff and starts stomping around. Now he's gone out with his pockets stuffed with tissues.

DD 11 has also been having them - I had wondered if the heat might be a factor.

DioneTheDiabolist · 01/07/2018 11:01

My 11yo DS is the same. Shock

bluerunningshoes · 01/07/2018 11:03

none here
we tend to have them in winter

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 01/07/2018 11:03

Ds11 also been having loads. Seems it’s their age!!

Gp told us it was a symptom of hay fever

RoseDog · 01/07/2018 11:04

Ds 13 has been having them regular, always does in this weather or really cold weather, he also has horrendous hay fever just now!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 01/07/2018 11:05

None here (4dc but only one prone to nosebleeds)

rainingcats · 01/07/2018 11:06

I work in a school so many nosebleeds happening recently- definitely heat is a factor

rainingcats · 01/07/2018 11:07

Just for context it tends to be year 7 and 8 where the majority are happening

megletthesecond · 01/07/2018 11:18

I used to get them in the heat and when I'd been been tearing around. DS is the same but 9yr old DD isn't affected.

None here yet. Still haven't got all the blood stains out of the pillow from last time...

GinasGirl · 01/07/2018 11:24

DS 11, has had lots this Summer!

GinIsIn · 01/07/2018 11:25

DS is fine. DH has had a few though!

BertieBotts · 01/07/2018 11:33

9yo DS had his first in a long time the other day. I didn't realise they came back, is it a pre-puberty thing?

megletthesecond · 01/07/2018 12:22

bertie I've been wondering about puberty kick starting them too. Does blood pressure go up maybe? or do they just make it go up when they stomp off Kevin the teenager style?

The children are ok but I've been shocking! Used to get them a lot as a child too, but have been ok the last few years. It's definitely hay fever related for me.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 01/07/2018 12:33

Though I’ve got an older son and it hasn’t happened to him.

jelliebelly · 01/07/2018 12:40

My ds(12) has had a few / generally in the middle of the night though!

Itchyknees · 01/07/2018 12:41

Awful here. Spraying the walls with his brains.

Almondio · 01/07/2018 12:48

12 year old getting a few, he's always been susceptible and now he has hayfever too, so it's bleeding noses are goooooo in our house and at school right now.

He's really calm about them, takes them in his stride thankfully.
