So both Dc's had chickenpox...DS really badly and DD a definite case but not as severe! This was 2 years ago.

Both have come out today in spots...spots which are multiplying before my eyes. They are 4 and 5.

If it's not chickenpox, what could it be? They definitely had it last time (both confirmed by docs) so how on earth could it be CP again?!

So if it's not the pox, what could it be?

You can get chickenpox more than once...!

Mybabystolemysanity · 26/06/2018 21:32

My nephew's just had hand foot and mouth. It looks like chicken pox a bit.

StarUtopia · 26/06/2018 21:33

They've both had hand foot and mouth. Doesn't look like that..just looks like the pox!

i was under the impression you could only get it twice if the first time was mild. It wasn't...

Can you post a pic of spots?

StarUtopia · 26/06/2018 22:06

Will do in the morning..managed to get them both off to sleep.

Just googling to see what else it could be...

Flea bites seems to come up - but they've been at school all day!

Do the children have a fever? Are the spots itchy? If not, it could be a mild allergic reaction or contact dermatitis of some sort. DS got this from some sun creams before we twigged. Looked just like chicken pox to start off with, but went away within a day or two.

My four year old often gets a rash that looks like chicken pox. Doctor said it's just a viral rash. I thought he had chicken pox a few years ago but now don't think he did. It usually disappears as suddenly as it appeared.
Maybe something like that, or an allergy. Mine always get run down towards the end of term and pick up lots of little bugs.

StarUtopia · 26/06/2018 23:07

ooh...could be from the new sun cream we used at pick up??

Just very odd that both of them started appearing with them within minutes of each other.

They are itchy the spots..definitely spots not a rash. No fever or anything though and perfectly happy in themselves.

Really hoping it's not the pox...got a few things on this week. Will update!
