Does chickenpox vaccine protect into adulthood?

I’m thinking of getting my DS 2.5 vaccinated. My friend’s DD was recently hospitalised for chickenpox (rare I know) and also thinking about it for the less important reason of chickenpox not happening at an inopportune time (holidays/work etc).

I’ve been trying to research it but getting conflicting info. Does chickenpox vaccine protect into adulthood? I’ve heard it would only give 75% protection, which to me isn’t a big risk considering the severity of the disease in adults? But other things I read says it gives the same long term protection as actually having the disease.

Can anyone advise?

We vaccinated our child. My understanding is that the vaccine lasts for 20 years, but as the vaccine has only been available for 20 years I assumed that it's just not tested beyond that time

That makes sense. I think there is a booster at 10 years if I’ve read correctly? I just don’t want to vaccinate if it’s increases the chance of adult chickenpox but sounds like it’s not as clear cut as saying 25% chance getting it.
