Chicken Pox - Infected?

DD has had chicken pox this week - this is day 4. She is autistic and can't communicate very well but her general demeanour has improved today. However, it clearly hurts her when she is walking and she showed me the spot indicated on her lower leg. I think this is what hurts?

It looks kind of bruised and swollen - is this indicative of an infection? I don't have any experience with chicken pox but she has been quite poorly with it and her spots look quite nasty to me.

Any insight from anyone more knowledgeable? Obviously taking her to the GP etc is very traumatic for her and I don't want to do it unless absolutely necessary.

Oh - when she started to feel unwell before any of the spots came out I did give her a single dose of Nurofen, but since then she has only had Calpol. Could this have caused it?
