Shivering

Last night D'S 2.5 woke in night asking for his covers on. It was 24 degrees in his room and he had pyjamas on. When I went in his room he was shivering but felt warm. I checked his temp and it was normal. Even with the covers on he was still shivering. He then asked for a drink when I brought him a bottle of water he guzzled at it drinking about a third of bottle straight down. He seemed a bit confused although he knew I was there and asked to come into mummy and daddies room. When he was in our room he asked for the lights off and started rambling gibberish. He was still shivering. In the end I gave him Calpol and within 20 mins of having it he was fine and still is. This happened once before on holiday pretty much exactly as last night. Just wondering do you think it was heat, possibly slightly dehydrated related or do u think I should get him checked out by the go.
