My DS is 2.5 and has had a fever on and off since Wednesday .. took him to the Drs weds, couldn’t see anything wrong apart from temp 38.2
He’s been up and down ever since, yesterday he didn’t have a fever at all until early hrs this morning went up to 39! Doesn’t seem to be going down with calpol but nurofen helped get it down below 38 to about 37.5 he’s been on/off sleeping all day today and has a cough. Any ideas?

Stop treating the fever- it’s a natural response of the body and you’re dragging out whatever infection it may be by not allowing him to fight it off.

Ok I thought it was dangerous to let him get too hot?!
I haven’t been giving him meds every 4hrs just when he’s crying and uncomfortable

Fever is a good thing...body doing it's job...look for signs of a very unwell child more than a number on a thermometer. Hopefully it will sort itself...any other symptoms?

Took him to out of hours gp and he’s got an infection so on antibiotics, he’s much happier today Smile
