Shoes for casted orthotics - recommendations please?

My 5yo DD has Ehlers Danlos syndrome. She’s started to complain of pain her knees and the biomechanics dept want to cast her some orthotics to help stabilise her ankle and donsupport her knees
Her current shoes won’t accommodate them so they’ve asked me to buy her some different shoes and then make an appointment to have them fitted.

Does anyone have any recommendations for shoes that for the following criteria

Rigid sole
Lace up or 3 Velcro straps
High around heel and ankle to support
Removable insole

Something like a walking shoe will be perfect apparently but if possible I want something that’s not going to be really ugly and that a little girl would be happy to wear. I’d also probably need a pair for school and a pair for the summer holidays

Hello. We have similar issues for a not dissimilar condition. So far we have found Geox shoes to be about the best as they have removable insoles. We have a three year old though so we can get away with Geox high tops for him (better ankle support too than most shoes we have tried) and haven’t had to think about school shoes yet. I hope you can find something useful as I know what a faff it is looking for shoes. Hopefully someone else will come along in a minute and help us both!

Thanks, I’ll have a look.

I’ve been looking at some walking shoes too which might help. There’s a decathlon shop near me so I might take her in there to have a look.

I hate shoe shopping with a passion but I feel I’m going to spend most of half term looking for shoes!
