Sun cream that doesn’t make eyes sore

My lo nursery has a policy of applying sun cream every two hours and as a result lo is rubbing some sunscreen in her eyes and is getting very sore. Three times now I have picked her up and she doesn’t want to open her eyes as the sun hurts. Her eyes will be blood shot and red and this will subside once I’ve washed her eyes properly in the bath. This has happened with three brands but only at nursery. At home I use sunscreen sparingly on her face and make sure it is absorbed on her hands. I also don’t reapply every 2 hours.

Anyone know of anything that will be kinder to her eyes?

I’ve asked if I can put once a day application sun cream on her face and hands and they said it is against their policy.

Hmmm, Nursery can't arbitrarily decide it needs to be every two hours. My dd has excema and we really struggled with finding suncream that didn't arriviste her. We ended up with once a day suncream, we apply at home in the morning and they reapply once in the day. We had a doctors note about the escema so that helped.

It might be worth trying a physical sunblock - less likely to sting, and thicker so less likely to get into her eyes. I like Green People's sunblock - not cheap I'm afraid. It takes a little bit of extra rubbing in but doesn't feel claggy on your skin.

you will be lower to go into the nursery and say you wish for them not to apply sunscreen. They can write up a consent form for you to sign.
As a childminder I have to write a policy for applying sunscreen and have the parents sign a consent form. I'm sure it could be done the other way around so your child doesn't have it applied.

Australian gold stick. It says on the packet to doesn't sting and it doesn't.

What about a base ball cap and then some sun scream applied on the nose and cheeks only.

Or what about a solid stick sun block that can be applied precisely and in fat stripes acrosss the correct areas?
