DD2 8 year old recurrent UTIs

Since the beginning of the academic year, DD2 has had 5 or 6 UTIs (I lost count now). They were pretty much one after another, I would say that during long school breaks (Dec and April) they did not return, so we suspected she might be choosing not to go for a wee at school (she moved schools in September).

She has had a course of antibiotics each time, which has cleared it, only to return roughly a couple of weeks later. Antibiotics were targeted to the specific bacteria (which was grown in a Lab).

She had a scan and kidneys and bladder looked ok, though bladder was slightly thickened and not totally emptying (30%). She has not been referred to urology but it's a 3 months wait. We can go private through my work..but in the meantime I am not sure what to think and I am panicking a little.

What could be wrong with her? She seems fine otherwise, although he tummy is slightly distended. Her brothers are coeliac and she was tested about 1 year and a half ago, so we will repeat that test today. However, I am now worrying what else it could be and most importantly what we can do..

If anyone else has had any experience of this please share :)

Thanks in advance!!!

Is she wiping effectively after a poo? She could be inadvertently spreading bacteria forwards.

Possibly? She uses wipes...

Wipes will leave her skin damp which can irritate the skin and essentially cause thrush/ fungal irritation. I'd get her to pat dry with aloe Vera loo roll
