Hello.

There is so much info online on this subject but I was wondering how much exercise a 4 year should get a day.

Thanks.

This is just my opinion but kids that age are naturally active if given the right environment (I.e. not too much screen time, not hours and hours strapped in a buggy or car seat). Personally I limited screen time to an hour a day at that age and we did things like going to the park most days and they had a trampoline in the garden. They don't really need organised sports or exercise although you can if you want.

Thank you for your reply.

What intrigues me is that the NHS website says for age 5 to 18 year olds 60 minutes a day.

But for under 5s 180 minutes a day.

Now i'm sure my 4 year old moves around 180 minutes a day at least. But it seems a jump from 4 to 5 years old.

I presume the NHS is credible and other healthcare sites say 30 minutes a day for 4 year olds which is quite different.
