Sending child to school with cough?

I had my dd at doctors again yesterday as she has had a cough that's lasted 3 weeks, she's prone to coughs that lasts for weeks on/off for months. She was given antibiotics to try then antihistamines if they didn't work.

I have sent her to school as she seems fine otherwise apart from this chesty cough with a letter asking to phone if it starts disrupting her work.

Is a cough enough to keep them off?

Personally I would say it’s not. A lot of things can trigger a cough, pure irritation. This time of year, it’s possibly a sign of hayfever. Hope the meds work
