Hi all,

my daughter has just had her first eye test. What does her prescription mean? It says:

DISTANCE: +1.00, -1.25, 30 in both eyes, with near add +1.00
NEAR: +2.00, -1.25, 30 in both

Thanks

Do you have a copy of the prescription? Could you put a picture up? Will one set of figures not be for one eye and the other set for the other eye? She is long sighted anyway (because of the + sign)

I've attached a photo. Any thoughts?

I think it says she is long sighted with an astigmatism and needs different lenses to read / look in the distance

I would say she needs distance glasses only. I've had 2 optometrists tell me that they done even think about reading glasses for kids until the number reaches +2.00.

Ok. I've ordered her some frames with the distance prescription in to see how she gets on. If she still needs the near prescription, reading glasses I guess?

I'd go back to whoever did the prescription and get them to explain it to you as you want to order the right thing
