What is this rash?

On Saturday my son had a pinkish rash over his chest and back. It was made up of lots of tiny bumps, looked like goosebumps but was pinky coloured and felt rough to touch.

The rash spread over his arms and legs woth a slight amount of itching.

The pink colour has now gone but the rash is still there. I called the GP bit they aren't terribly interested in it.

I just wondered if anyone had encountered similar and had any advice on getting rid of it?

It could be an allergic reaction if it's rough like sandpaper. Lots of emollient cream will help. Have you changed detergents lately? If not it could easily be something he's eaten, up to 48 hours before the rash first appeared. Any possible culprits that he doesn't usually eat?

I'm sure others will have different suggestions but that's one possibility!

My Dd (10) is always breaking out in rashes and they're always viral, she had one on her torso for 12 weeks, school kept querying it n the GP said it'd go eventually. I'd try some antihistamines and check in the morning.

Could be a viral rah or folliculitis.
