Been to the drs and he's been prescribed ' otomize' for an ear infection.
Got home and gave him a dose. just checked the box and it says not for under 2's. Ds is 20 months.
I've called the surgery and the dr is going to call back. The receptionist and said 'I'm sure it's fine....' Hmm
Should I be worried?

I wouldn't worry too much because a) it's only four months and b) it can still be appropriate to prescribe a particular medication even though the box says otherwise. I'd like to think the doctor checked the children's BNF before prescribing.

But by all means, double check.

What did the pharmacist say? We had same with different medication and luckily pharmacist spotted and sorted it out with gp.

The pharmacist didn't notice the age. He knows me and ds quite well as were frequent visitors Confused.
The dr didn't call back AngryAngryAngry

The pharmacist checked the prescription and just passed it over. Didn't really check DOB.
