Hand foot and mouth

So DD1 (22mnths) has hand foot and mouth diagnosed yesterday. Doctor assured me she can continue day to day life if she's feeling up to it, playgroups etc. Obviously I won't be taking her to groups as I wouldn't want to pass it on. My q is, how long shall I leave her out of her groups, meeting with friends and family etc? I have a newborn 9wks old - do I wait to see if it develops in her before we go anywhere?
Is she still contagious with her spots still visible?
She seems okay in herself and does not attend nursery.

I’m surprised the doctor said that. Usually a week or until all the spots disappear, whichever is longest, I thought.

Hope she feels better soon. Flowers

The official guidance is that you don’t need to stay off nursery / school with HfM.

I would just give it a few days. By the weekend you should be fine to go out & about.

I wouldn't wait to see if baby gets it.

You can remain contagious with it for a few weeks afterwards.

The NHS says its the most contagious for the first 5 days so that is how long I would leave it.

DS had it though really really badly and he only infected DH!
