Dribble rash help please

My DS (6 month) has a bright red rash around his mouth, under his check and a little on his chest for almost 2 weeks. We have used sudocrem to try soothe it and Vaseline to act as a barrier. We've had to stop wearing bibs as it irritates his skin more than catches the dribble. We went to the gp 1 week ago who told us to use anti-fungal cream which doesn't seem to be working. It can become so red and inflamed during the day and now he's started to itch it. I feel so sorry for him.

Could I have some advice please, what has helped your little ones?

Lots of gentle dabbing dry and vaseline worked for us when DD had it briefly. Your little one sounds worse though. I would think go back to GP if Canesten 2% isn't working. I would be worried about impetigo. I was hospitalised with it when I was little.

I used coconut oil on my DD, she had a terrible rash all round her neck, but I just tried to keep it clean and dry and popped coconut oil on it after baths and during the day if it looked particularly sore.
