How often can you take Ovex?

DD is 4 and showing signs of 4th threadworms attack in the space of a year. I’m loathe to dose us all up with Ovex again - me, DH, DD and DS (2).

My heart sank. We’ve always done the deep cleaning, stayed on top of handwashing, keep nails short etc.

So is too much Ovex harmful? And is it worth a GP visit for something else?

Also to add by signs I mean saying is itchy, though in the day, and having wee accidents. I know it could also be a UTI.

We only actually saw a worm the first two times, so I don’t want to do the wrong thing.

Are you giving two doses each attack?

I would just give it

Blerg · 26/04/2018 22:41

Thanks Apples, yes two doses two weeks apart each time.

When we kept getting them our GP suggested doing it every 2 weeks for 6 weeks. (3 doses if you see what I mean) she said sometimes the 2nd dose doesn't completely finish them off so a third should. Has always worked for us. Good luck

It's isn't harmful, in fact people worm on a regular basis. However some say they get a bit immune to Ovex and other treatment has to be used
I hear ya though, we've just had our first encounter (how f*ing disturbing are they!!!)

I'd go for three doses personally.

Thanks so much Mummytron and Drinks. I have wondered about that before but wasn’t sure if it could be too much. Good to know.

They are awful. As my DH tends to yell exasperatedly on repeat: ‘what is the point of them?!’
