My DS (8) hurt his right foot 3 weeks ago by dropping a stone on it on the beach. We've had it Xrayed and no break. The nurse told him to walk on it as otherwise the ligaments would stiffen up and it would be more painful. He refused to walk on it and had been hopping/walking on his heel for 3 weeks. There is no visible bruising and no swelling. He's now saying that it feels "like my toe is in the wrong place". It also appears to come and go... ok at playtime, sore for PE and at home time... it's worse at bed time. His step brother who is in his 20's has recently had surgery and I have been really looking after him alot. Family consensus is that this is attention seeking behaviour due to his brother and the lack of symptoms.... but I am worried that there may be something else that is causing his pain. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks
