One of my twins is an ex 27 weeker (now 6) he suffers with frequent migraines. His consultant referred him for an MRI which he had 2 weeks ago. Received a letter today for a second MRI with contrast for next week. I’m panicking now. Am I worrying over nothing. Tried ringing his consultant, no answer.

If they thought they had found something really dramatically alarming (like a tumour), then you probably wouldn't have even got out of the building without someone rugby tackling you to the floor, to stop you leaving, and getting your DS straight up to the specialist team. Asking for contrast studies implies something much more subtle, where they want finer detail to decide if there is a problem or not. And thus probably more likely to relate all the way back to that early preterm delivery.

None of us on here can no what is going on. But honestly, when it's something really urgently worrying then they drag the consultant down to the scanner before the patient goes home. Try not to panic. It's far more likely they've found something subtle that's actually been there since the neonatal period.

Finger crossed for you.

That’s very hard - I hope you get a hold of your consultant, they should have provided more information. Wishing you and your son well for the next scan.
