My DD has been diagnosed with CH at 1 week old, although only borderline, and been put on 25 mg Thyroxin since she was 4 weeks. Her blood tests are perfect now and her dose has not been increased since then, she is now just over 5 months. It has been no trouble giving it to her, I am crusing the tablet and giving it with a spoon with her morning feed, either bottle or putting her straight on the breast. However, I cannot help but worry about her development and the fact that she is dependent on this medication, potentially for the rest of her life.
Mums who are going through the same and have older children now, would you be kind to share your stories about how your DC got on in terms of mental and physical development?
