Breastfeeding and antibiotics

Anyone have any idea if it’s ok to breastfeed whilst both me and my DD are taking antibiotics?

I already know that it’s ok if I’m taking them as only a very tiny amount passes through but I’ve never been in the situation where we are both taking them.

For info I’m on phenoxymethylpenicillin and she’s on amoxicillin. One breastfeed each evening and she’s 28 months.

(I forgot to ask the gp as was feeling so bloody poorly when prescribed!)

Yes it's fine
You could double check on the medication part of the breastfeeding network site.

Both are safe for you and/or your DD.

I was just a bit Confused as to whether it was ok for her as we are both taking them!

Pharmacist didn’t seem too sure!

I believe amoxicillin is not a strong one (which is why they give it to babies) and she will only get a teeny tiny amount of what you’re taking, given that she just has one breastfeed per day.
