18 month old projectile vomiting

My little boy has just been properly sick for the first time. And another 3 times subsequently. My heart is breaking for him.

But he keeps pointing at his throat about 2-5mins before he is sick. I noticed it the first time as it was something new but didn't think anything else of it.

What could he be trying to tell us?

He shows no other signs of illness.

He's either trying to tell you that sick is about to come out or his throat possibly hurts. The fact that he's doing it a few minutes before each vomiting incident makes it seem more likely he's trying to inform you that he feels it coming. Which is a good thing because my 3 year old doesn't give any indication that he's gonna puke at all fs it just comes flying out of nowhere. Just focus on keeping fluids up, keep an eye on temp, don't try to feed him for a few hours after vomiting ceases and even then been prepared for him to even eat something and puke it back up anyway.
