Chicken pox sabs and scars

My 5 year old did is coming through the other side of a heavy dose of chicken pox. She had well over 100 spots in her face and neck.
And she’s a picker!
Some of them are already craters where she’s picked and they aren’t healing well
I’m a picker so I understand how hard it is for a 5 year old not to pick all these spots on her face. We’ve tried explaining that she will have scars etc and shown her pics of kids who have been left with scars but she’s not stopping. I’ve even told her to pick her nose instead!

How can I help her?
I can’t bear to see my beautiful baby deal with all the aftermath. We went out yesterday and kids just kept staring and adults were overly nice to her. We even had to move on a carausel because a group of kids just turned and stared despite being pulled up on it

I would give her a bit of lotion or cream like a basic, "clean" moisturiser and hand it over every time she picks. Just a blob...tell her to rub a bit on herself. It might distract her and break the habit. You could try some Bio Oil....put that on her yourself, morning and night. it does seem to help scars....but don't worry too much, she's still growing.

Put 8 drops of lavender essential oil in the bath, really soothing and stops the itching. Calamine cream also softens the scabs, stopping them pulling and itching.
