Lack of teeth

My LO is 18 months old and only has 6 teeth. 2 at the bottom and 4 at the top.
I’ve just researched online and at this age 12-14 teeth is usual.
Any positive stories of late teeth as I’m getting worried! I can feel them under his gum so I don’t think they’re missing.
He’s struggling to eat lots of harder foods and meat too as he’s got the same amount of teeth as a 9 month old.

My dd didn't get her first tooth until she was 16 months! I was convinced she didn't have any! They all came through eventually , although they did take a little no time. Our dentist that she had tough, fibrous gums.

It did take her a while to start enjoying meat which I do think was down to the fact that she couldn't chew it for so long! She ate everything else though.

First tooth was at 18 months. 6 is plenty! If you worried speak to dentist.

Thanks both.
Just looks weird against his friends the same age that have 10 more teeth than him!
I’ll be patient.
