At my wits end. 1 year old has had constant diorrhea for nearly 3 weeks now.

He had a tummy bug about 2 weeks ago, was off his food, constantly upset etc.
He is alot better now but is still having alot of loose nappies, especially after milk. As in his afternoon nappies are much better than his morning ones.

Ive tried lacto free milk and soya milk, soya seems to make the diorrhea worse!

Ive spoken to the doctor and health visitor both whom have said his tummy just needs time to recover and if hes happy and is eating and drinking well then to not worry, but i cant help feeling like im missing something obvious!

For what it's worth until he was 8 months he suffered from constipation!
Please help... someone, anyone!!

This happened to us with both DC's. It was a temporary lactose intolerance caused by the bug. We cut it out completely in all foods for about 3 months and then slowly reintroduced it. The both improved dramatically about 3 days or so after we stopped it and were fine when it was gradually reintroduced.

Thank you. Unfortunately he has been kn lactose free milk for almost a week now and has also in the last 48 hours developed a cough. Cant help but feel we are missing something obvious!

Glad your dc are better
