Ear bones missing/retracted ear drum

Does anyone have any experience of a child with glue ear and retracted eardrums?Having no luck getting an explanation from the Dr and the follow up appointment is in 8 weeks so it’s stressing me out.
All I know is my little one’s ear drums retracted which starved the bloody supply to the little hearing bones and now 1 of the 3 is missing. All the surgeon said was that they will now follow closely.

Ds has had retracted ear drums due to imbalanced pressure in the inner ear. I've never heard of it causing bones to be missing?
For ds he had grommets put in which helped.
