Tonsillectomy tomorrow... one question

Evening

Dd (7) is having a tonsillectomy tomorrow morning as she has PAFPA. She has flares every two weeks and finished her last one yesterday, but has a bit of a cough left over. She is only coughing whilst awake and I suspect it is slightly forced. We haven't heard her cough once whilst she has been asleep.

I know ultimately it will come down to the surgeon and the anaesthetist as to whether it will go ahead but for those who have been in the same situation did your child's surgery happen?

Yes, my son had a cough and a bit of a cold but no temp and they did the tonsillectomy. It was straightforward and quick. Good luck tomorrow!

Thank you. That's really good to hear. I've just checked her temp whilst she is sleeping and it was 36.2, and still not a cough from her. Hopefully they will be happy to go ahead

My DD had some coughing on the day of her surgery and they went ahead.

Thank you both for your replies. They listened to her chest and heard the cough and were happy to do the op. Back home now and hopefully on the road to recovery
