Small black shadow on sons eye

My son was complaining of a sore eye so I had a look and noticed a small black shadow on the white of his eye. Not sure if it’s related or not to the pain.

Anyone any ideas what it could be?

No idea, but eyes are delicate . Dr tomorrow if there's still pain.
Probably fine, but best to be sure.

Thanks I’ll make an appointment. Didn’t expect to see anything but the small shadow had me concerned.

Maybe a burst blood vessel? Worth getting it checked for your peace of mind though x

It's difficult to see that well on the photo but it looks like a bit of pigment that maybe you haven't noticed before.
His lower lid looks a bit inflamed so that could be the cause of the sore eye.
If it's still sore in the morning I'd see your optician/gp.

Did you manage to see the dr/optician op?

Cottoneyed12 · 31/03/2018 18:17

Yes I did thanks.

He confirmed it’s just pigment like a freckle - nothing to worry about but they will keep an eye on it.

I was going to say looks like a freckle!
