Suspected Chicken pox

DS and DD have been a been off it all week, temperatures, off their food etc.

DS has woken up with a rash all over his face and even in his ears.

I’m pretty sure that it is chicken pox.

Do I need to take him to the Drs to get it confirmed? A few family members are saying this is what I should do but I don’t really see the need, there’s nothing they can do and it’s likely to be passed on to other kids or vulnerable people.

WWYD?

It's it just on his face? That's not typical chicken pox presentation. Any on the body? Chicken pox looks like fluid filled blisters. I didn't take either of mine to the gp for it but did phone them to say they had it

Yes it is just on his face, I did read that is normally starts on the torso and spreads. The spots on his face are typical chicken pox like blisters.

I agree sounds odd for it to be chicken pox if it's just his face affected. But no, I wouldn't take to doctors for confirmation if that's what you think it is. It'll just pass it on. If only go if one looked infected

My sons first spots of chicken pox appeared on his neck right under his chin in the fold of skin, then spread round the back of neck and ears, within 6 hours they were on his back and by the next morning tummy and face started etc so I suppose time will tell as the rash spreads if it doesn't then I doubt its chicken pox.

I took him to the drs yesterday and they said it was just viral.

My daughter and my son both had it start on the face. Very mild dose.
