DD (aged 7) having ‘dizzy’ spells

A few days ago DD started complaining of short dizzy spells. She describes it as a visual disturbance mainly: the page/screen/view ‘shakes’, just for a few seconds. It happens a few times per day, and also happens at night (so it’s a feeling of dizziness, not just a visual thing).

She doesn’t have a headache. I don’t believe it’s due to thirst/hunger. She doesn’t have a cold or other illness, and she is generally healthy. It happens at any time of day, and while doing a variety of things: playing, eating, reading, playing the piano…

I’ve booked for her to have an eye test this coming Tuesday, but should we be in a greater panic about this?

My DD was saying something similar before. She is 6. Her description was almost that everything went fuzzy. I got her in for an eye test and everything was clear. Optician said it might just be linked to a virus she had. Her eye test was totally fine. She’s actually not complained since!!! Hope it’s the same for you but always best to get these things checked.

I get similar things and I have epilepsy.
I started seizures around 9, but would have little episodes of things.. it wasn't picked up until I was 12, as these things never happened around people and I assumed it was normal!

May be worth a trip to the GP or paediatrician to see if they can check it out.
