My little boy has been poorly for a while now, Feb got ear infection- told to give nurofen calpol , second week went back to docs given antibiotics, week after gets cold and awful cough for 4 days, then few days after goes downhill to high temps, sleeping most day - went to docs told viral infection- then he starts waking screaming crying bad back pain, docs again told all linked, this goes on and off a week I end up at hospital out of hrs on a sat am - he could hardly walk had temp 40.2 - gets checked over, urine test (clear) and told oz flu ... again suffered with bad back all weekend and again on the Thursday afternoon after having a nap , he wakes crying and won’t let me touch him, he can’t move, back pain so bad, it took 30mins to get him up (I did call 111 whom never answered the phone) I end up at docs thurs eve (he was jumping about like nothing had happened) thurs eve he wakes in night same thing - back to docs Friday am and we are sent to hospital ... spent 10hrs at hospital he had bloods taken (all clear) x Ray (all fine) checked by a number of people and they don’t know what’s causing it, he has a rash mark which had before when had viral infection (see pic if can upload) they discharged us 9pm and said they would call today to see how he is .... (they haven’t) they said if still suffering he would need mri scan....Sunday and today have been good days and he hasn’t woken with a bad back, hasn’t complained of bad back either - but I’m concerned regarding this rash and also only noticed tonight in picture which looks like bruising on his side / not even seen this on him nor did hospital etc so until he wakes in morning for me to check I can’t say it’s not the camera on phone or shadow? I’m sure someone would of said something if bruised?

Has anyone’s little one suffered with this? The rash - has anyone any ideas?

Sorry this is a long post!

If he has a rash phone 111 and they will be able to advise you. Does it blanch when pressed?

It’s literally a patch - doctors have seen it, doctors at hospital seen it Friday and they had no concern , it’s the back and bruising my concern , can’t upload pic on here to show what mean

How stressful for you how is he in himself? Fever? Any pain..eating..drinking?

Anyone mention synovitis? Symptoms would certainly fit - if it is then it's nurofen and rest

Has been a really worrying time that I’ve now worn myself out!! He’s now quiet perky in himself, playing, (tantrums) eating and drinking ok now (wasn’t eating much at all for 5 days) temps fine since Friday ....I have been giving calpol & nurofen still as they said he’s got red ears still and tonsil up ... back hasn’t cause any issues again last night so I think we could be on right road now!?

Spinn - yes I was thinking this in regards to the patch (rash) on back as not first time he’s had it ... going to have a check over him this morning (Dad has sorted him this morning for me) and see if can see any bruising
