Does this sound like asthma?

DD is 5. She gets chest infections fairly regularly during the winter and has had pneumonia before.

Her last chest infection was about a month ago and she was given a blue inhaler for the wheeze.

Since she has had random bouts of wheezing, with no illness. I have been using the pump to treat this as necessary.

Last week DD came out of school coughing and wheezing. It continued to get worse and she needed her pump every 2-3 hours throughout the night. I assumed it was another infection because her temperature was slightly raised, but the OOH doctor said he didn't think it was and to continue with the blue inhaler. He mentioned it might be asthma.

The wheezing has settled, but she wakes every morning coughing and wheezing.

Not sure what to do from here? I'm taking her back to the GP next week, but is there anything else that can be done?

The wheezing whilst she's otherwise well does sound like asthma.

The gp can prescribe medication and or a brown preventer inhaler.

The brown one is to be used twice a day regardless of symptoms and the blue as and when needed.
