Bit confused by your post, do you mean that if a child has a mild congenital heart condition that there school should have it written down in his records?

My daughter has a congenital heart defect that is classified as mild and her school are aware of it, I think even with a minor defect the school should know about it.

My son has a vsd it's on his notes at school in case of emergency they need to know

What makes you confused and worried? School should know, I think, in case an ambulance should ever have to be called. Our school knows about my son’s heart defect, even though it has no affect on hos day to day activities.

My dc’s school and social clubs are aware as in an emergency requiring medical care, the medics will hear that the heart sounds ‘wrong’.

My son is at nursery and had his VSD fixed at 6 weeks. It's in his record and will also be in his record once he goes to school next year. He is fine now, but I'd like school to know why he has a massive scar on his chest!

So, I would. As a pp said, his heart will sound different if he ever needs medical care.
