Hello

My son (8) has not felt well since Friday evening, coughing a bit, and has a temperature of 38.2.

He seems better in himself today but is still 38.2.

Do I send him into school tomorrow?

xx

If his temp is OK tomorrow then I would.
And if he’s ok in himself even with a temp of 38.2 I would. It’s not super high & I think how they act tells you more

Hi

Thank you for replying.

I just worry as before Christmas he kept telling the teacher he didnt feel well and the teacher told him he's fine and then he fainted with a raging temperature and tonsillitus!

They didnt take his temperature until he fainted.

I wouldn't...well...it would depend on how child is. If eating and drinking and playing i would send in...

Hi

Im torn on what to do.

We had a dreadful time with illnesses over Christmas.

Tonsilitus, then 2 weeks later, 2 kids off with a week long virus. Christmas Day, coming out of both end!

I received a letter from the school stating my kids had been off too many times and now each absence has to be proved by a GP appointment card or they will inform the local authority!

Each of these times though, I had taken them to the GP and had the proof!

I don't know what to do - a temperature can change by the hour!

Does he feel well
Or not?

If he is well, despite the temperature, then send him. 38.2 isn’t a high temp so much as a raised temperature.

If he feels unwell with it, keep him off.

Thank you.

He's been fine today, just hot.
