Constipation? Or something else?

DD is 2.1 and eats well, she drinks a fair amount of milk but eats lots of fruit/veg.

She really struggles to poo, straining, red faced, sometimes crying and biting her fingers- but once she manages to get it out it is usually a play-doh consistency and a pale brown colour.

She manages to ‘go’ once a day, very occasionally going a day without bug usually it is every day.

So she is showing all the signs and distress of constipation, but going regularly. I have switched her milk to semi skimmed and that seemed to make a small amount of difference.
This morning she told me it hurts when she urinates (obviously not in so many words!) so we will contact GP first thing on Monday, but I am really quite concerned.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Thank you

Prunes, lots of them. The Ellas kitchen probs e punch is good. I make apples and prune purée that goes in dairy free yogurt, porridge etc.
