When does a cut need stitches?

Just that really. Child has cut face, bleed a lot but now stopped bleeding. Cut is about two centimetres long and doesn't seem that deep.

Just can't decide if I need to get it looked at, if it can wait until tomorrow or whether I am overworrying

As it’s on the face get it seen to risk of infection/Un slightly scarring. Otherwise rule of thumb (on body parts such as arms and legs) is gaping, over 3cm jaggered, can see fat tissue over 1/4 inch deep it will poss need stitches but no one an ever really tell.

Better to have it checked properly as it's on the face and a scar is more noticeable there.

Mght need gluing to avoid scar if not stitches.

Thanks all. Ended up going to A&E and getting it glued
