Hi, my little girl (3 year old) is constantly sick with colds/coughs and really high temperatures (39-40). She has been in full time childcare since she was about 9 months old so you would think her immune system would have built up tolerance but she seems to be worse last few months. Over the past 5 months she has orb had about 3 weeks where she has been good health wise. Feels like myself and hubby are constantly off work and keeping her home.

Her teacher at pre school even mentioned it when I picked her up tonight.

We have an appointment with pediatrican on Thursday but I am worrijed they may just palm us off with there are a lot of bugs/just a virus/typical 3 yeAr old.

Anyone else with similar sinus/threat/chest issues or any advice greatly appreciated?

Yes! I've been posting loads on here about my DS being constantly ill this year with viral and bacterial infections. I requested a blood test to be on the safe side and unfortunately have had to keep going back every couple weeks for a retest since his platelet level (goes up when there's infection or inflammation) is higher than normal. At the end of march is our next appointment and hopefully our last. I'm hoping spring will come and the colds/coughs will slow down a bit. He's just started coughing again today and I'm at my wits end! I feel helpless and useless and I'm tired and stressed. I find that Vicks on the bottom of the feet help, also a cool mist humidifier, maybe a little albos bath gel before bed helps open his sinus.

To be honest it would be worth asking for antibiotics I know it won't work on viral infections but I basically broke down explained about my stress and concerns and asked the GP to give it a try... if it works it works if it doesn't it doesn't. He never uses them so I don't see the harm. Anyway must of been bacterial because after day 2 on antibiotics he was all better.

Like you they kept telling me it was viral and it will go away in 3-5 days and use calpol and lots of water Hmm
