I was changing my 13 month olds nappy to look up and realise he had grabbed the Metanium ointment (the yellow tube) which had the lid off.. it was all round his month and his tongue was covered in it. I wiped away what I could and hes now sat happily but the fact the back of the tube says if child swallows see a doctor straight away is really scaring me. What should I do? Go up to the walk in, ring 111? Or just keep an eye on him??

My daughter did this years ago, rang 111, they got a doctor from the hospital to ring me back. Read out the ingredients he said she'll be ok but take her to your GP just to check incase of unknown allergies (which we did). She was fine.

If the tube says seek medical advice then I would say you should do so. Ring 111 for advice in the first instance.
