Looking for some advice/ similar experience, my 3 yo is always ill! In the space of the last 9 weeks he has had a headcold, fever or chesty cough 7 times! He's been on antibiotics or steroids each time but never seems to help. Phoned his gp yesterday evening and briefly explained and his advise was to bring him to A&E as he might need some bloods/ tests done. Has anybody else's children been sick this often, if so what was the outcome? I'm planning on bringing him to hospital today as he's quite poorly again but I'm afraid I'm going to look like a drama queen wasting a doctors time for a child with a headcold. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Smile

My 5 year old has been constantly sick since January, it's been very stressful I've taken him to the gp but they insisted it's just a viral infection should go away in a few days but then it doesn't! He got a fever for 4 days 2 weeks ago and had some amoxicillin as well as a blood test (gp didn't speak to me about his blood results and instead asked for a second one to be done next week) he seems to be much better but then last night he woke up coughing constantly for about an hour and had a stuffy nose. I cannot take it anymore, I don't know why he's getting another cold, I've deep cleaned the whole house he hasn't been in school for 2 weeks. I just don't know why he keeps catching these viruses. Hopefully the second blood test will be alright I'm hoping she only asked for a second because he was on amoxicillin the first time and also was still in the early stages of antibiotics so maybe she wants to see him without infection?

I can't wait to get back to normal.

Also was prescribed a sea water nasal spray to clear congestion and also help with cough caused by post nasal drip. Only problem is he won't let me use it on him. Sad

Keep us posted about how he gets on at a&e. Hopefully your little one is alright but I'd love to know what's going on as my son is kind of in the same boat

Wash hands.

A lot.

Especially after School and before eating.

Yes my DS was always ill and was found to have an IgA deficiency. It can cause reoccurring chest infections/stomach bugs. DS had the latter and tended to pick up all sorts. I lived in A&E when he was little.
