Son’s heartbeat feels irregular

So I am lying with 5yo ds right now m. He woke up with tummy ache, threw up, now fine back to sleep. No temp. Might be bug going round school (dd was throwing up on weekend) or maybe too much pudding. Who knows. Anyway am just cuddling him and could feel his heart. It was pumping hard and fast but not regular. The beat kept changing. Am fairly sure it was just him and not being confused with my own.
So he is fine right now. Sleeping. Breathing normally. Chest looks fine from outside. Etc. But should I be worried about heart. Is GP going to think I am crazy if I take him in and say it felt funny and I just want her to listen to it and check?

I think they can jump around - I remember having a similar worry. Always best to check, though, if you're worried.

Maybe he’s a bit dehydrated?
