Newborn pee

Hi, wondering if anyone had a suggestion. My newborn is 3 days old and was peeing regularly but then stopped for 24 hours and then finally did a very large wee which was slightly pink in places. Is this a sign of dehydration? She seems to be feeding well although I was letting her sleep for long periods of 6 hours without feeding. I now keep waking her to feed as was worried about dehydration but still no pee since the large one at 7am. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Ring your community midwife or labour ward and they will advise. It is part of their job. Little babies can become ill very quickly so it is always best to get prompt medical advice.

Do give your midwife or the postnatal ward a call. My baby had pinkish-orange in her urine and it was a sign that she was a bit dehydrated.

Call your midwife/labour ward. They're too young to take any chances. I suspect they are a bit dehydrated from what you've said, so they may need checking out/weighing.

Take her to the hospital immediately - like immediately
This is not normal and needs to be checked ASAP

There is likely something seriously wrong and you need to get her to hospital ASAP
It could be a sign of sepsis or kidney problems
