Can calpol cause colic?

Hello,

My little boy had his first vaccinations today. As advised we gave him calpol and 4 hrs after the first dose he had really bad tummy ache, arches his back and can't burp, like having a colic.
Is it normal? Did anyone had the same? Any alternatives to calpol that we can use? He is 8 weeks.
Thank you!

He can't really have anything else at that age, sorry

If he is allergic to cows milk protein, calpol has a substance in it (sorbital i think) that is similar and can cause this reaction. Own brand ones are usually okay. Hope that helps.
