It's hard and doesn't hurt him. Suddenly appeared this morning. No other symptoms apart from a cold. I will take him to the GP tomorrow but it feels like ages away. I'm panicking and trying (and failing) not to google. He has several chronic conditions as it is.

So we went to GP yesterday and she thinks the lump is his rib that has moved to the wrong place and is sticking out. Which makes no sense as he isn't in any pain and wasn't bothered when the gp felt the lump, and she wasn't exactly gentle about it either. Gp said she would email paediatrician who would probably refer him for an x ray and someone would be in touch. So far nobody has been in touch and I'm still panicking.

Dr google (I know I shouldn't) is full of stories about people with slipped/popped ribs being in agony, worse than childbirth and they have all done it because they have either had pneumonia and done it coughing or they have had heavy furniture dropped on them or they are a victim of DV. None of which DS has done although now I've added "what if the gp and paediatrician think i've been beating up my child and dropping furniture on him" to my list of worries.

Please tell me it will be ok

Yes it'll be fine. Honestly. Why wouldn't it be? Confused
