Rash after possible flu (or flu symptoms)

DD (7) has just developed a bright red rash on her arm. It is hot to touch and turns white when pressed. There are a few bits at the edges that look a bit like hives but the main area is exactly like sunburn.

She is otherwise happy today but was knocked out last week by something (maybe flu). Had no energy, felt sick etc and still has a cough.

If it is 'just' hives I assume it's because she's been poorly but is it possible it is scarlet fever, or something else? Do we need to go to the GP tomorrow?

Scarlet fever feels rough to the touch, like sandpaper.

What it sounds to me is Slapped cheek, that's exactly how dd1's started. It only spread to her face after the rest of her was bright red.

Hm, it seems to have gone right down this morning apart from a couple of tiny pink patches. The bit that was red is possibly slightly rough, but it could have been goosebumps! Will have to have another look when the house has warmed up. To school or not to school?
