Hi I'm probably over reacting just need reassurance

I have a 4 nearly 5 month old and he got his last round of injections today before turning 1
Lady said to make sure he got 3 doses of calpol with 4 hour gaps
So he got those fine and didn't seem too grumpy but he woke not long ago screaming and roasting hot so I undressed him and cooled him down but he was still upset so partner checked box n it said it was okay to do another dose

Afterwards we fed him n he was smiles again and now he's fast asleep

Ho ever I just realised we didn't wait 4 hours and gave him it after only 3 Confused

Now I can't sleep worried something gonna happen
Please say I'm mental

It's absolutely fine, nothing will happen from giving calpol an hour early.

Get some sleep and put it out of your mind. Hope your baby feels better soon.

Absolutely fine no need to worry

huha · 10/01/2018 03:40

It will be fine.

As long as you gave four doses within a 24 hour period and no more it will be fine. It’s better to try and space them out if you can do you don’t run out, if that makes sense.

NeilPetark · 10/01/2018 10:55

*so, not do

FartsMeanHearts · 10/01/2018 10:56

He will
Be absolutely fine

He will be absolutely fine. If he was in hospital and needed something earlier, they would give him a higher dose than you are buying over the counter anyway. Just try and stick to no more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
Also remember that you can alternate nurofen and calpol so that might help next time? Again, space them out evenly and no more than the max dose of each in 24 hours and you will be fine.

My friend accidentally gave her baby double the dose of calpol (she gave a dose, didn't communicate with husband and he gave a dose about 20 min later.

Took her straight to A&E as they were so worried but Dr said there was absolutely nothing to be concerned about and the doses the manufacturer sets are well below the level that would cause any damage.

What I found really handy with my kids was to note down the time, and what they took. So if they were sick I always had the list of calpol vs nurofen etc. Because you forget so quickly if they are taking them a lot, and if you are worried you forget even quicker!
