2.5yo DS won't take medicine

My DS has tonsillitis and has been prescribed liquid antibiotics (phenoxymethylpenicillin). He had the first dose fine but soon after realised he didn't like it. I've tried to give him the second dose by bribing him with chocolate (not ideal I know) and gave him a small piece before and let him hold a small piece for after. I got as far as getting the medicine in his mouth before he again spat it out 😫. I've tried mixing it with juice (without his knowledge) but apparently he doesn't like the juice and refused to drink anymore than a small sip. I've tried reasoning with him (yeah right, not happening at all!) and I've even rang and spoken to the GP to see if there was an alternative prescription he could have but apparently there isn't. Tbh I can't blame him, it does taste foul! I've tried taking a bit myself and then offering him some, I've tried all sorts! I've even tried to hold him still and put it down the back of his tongue but with having no one else here to help keep him still that didn't exactly go very well either and we ended up wearing most of it! Any ideas? Really worrying that he won't take it and will end up even more poorly! Thanks in advance!

have you tried mixing it in a yoghurt?

Swaddle him in a towel, squirt it into a corner of his mouth then quickly stick a chocolate button in. You just have to be firm.
If he really won’t take it still ring up and ask for a different antibiotic that isn’t so foul tasting!

My 6 year old hs just had this prescribed today.
Managed to get 1st dose in her but I know next 7 days are going to be really tough.
She’s had it before and it was a nightmare. We even tried the holding her down and forcing it in her route.

Bribery is perfectly acceptable in situations like this. We used to give her really strong squash afterwards. Today she wanted an ice pole so that’s what she got.
Mi’m sure chocolate will feature in there eventually.

Din’t Have any real advise just want to say......good luck!!
