My 9 year old boy started complaining of a sore throat yesterday morning although continued to play and seemed otherwise fine. By the afternoon he had a temp of 38.5 and chills which eased with paracetamol. A restless night followed but he seemed brighter this morning. He now has pus on his tonsils and is running temp again. I feel dreadful for not taking him to the doctor today, I should have although I know tonsilitis usually clears itself up. But I just read (googling symptoms freaks me out) that if pus is present I should seek medical advice. He's sleeping now! Any advice?
