Blood in 4 year olds ear

Ds is 4 and has grommets that came out of his eardrum a few months ago but are still sitting in his ear canal. His left ear has been bleeding, there is some dried blood in his ear but nothing on his bedding or on the outer part of his ear so I'm thinking it can't be loads. He won't let me touch his ear but that's fairly normal for him. Does he need to see someone? If so who? He's got a gp, health visitor, general paediatrician (although she specialises in premature babies), ent consultant and a paediatric neurosurgeon. I'm guessing either the gp if he needs to see someone.

GP to start with who can refer on if felt necessary.
