12 month olds nails falling off

Hiya..
I’ve noticed tonight, that on several of my Little ones fingers, her nails are coming off. Not peeling or flaking, but lifting and growing off from her cuticle/ nail bed. There is a crescent moon shaped gap between the nail and her cuticle.
She was recently diagnosed with scarlet fever (around 1 month ago) - I weren’t confident in the drs diagnosis (probably because the first dr we seen dismissed her symptoms completely and it weren’t until we decided to go to a walk in for a second opinion, that he discovered a serious case of tonsillitis along wit her rash and fever) anyway, after antibiotics for 10 days her symptoms did clear up. She has since had her skin peel from her fingers and toes - I read that with scarlet fever this is common. That seems to have stopped, but now this? I did read about Kawasaki disease several times. I’ve just done the dreaded google search with her finger nails, and again kawasaki disease has popped up.
I guess my question is, has anyone else’s little one had scarlet fever; and experienced nail loss afterwards?
Thanks in advance from a very anxious mummy x

I've heard of it happening with hand, foot and mouth disease but not scarlet fever.

Is it possible she's had hand foot and mouth? My DS had had exactly what you describe with peeling hand and feet and losing a few nails. He had confirmed HFM disease, and these are common after effects. There has been a lot of it around this year.

Is it possible that she has jammed her fingers in a door or something? I know that it has happened just after the illness but the two aren't necessarily related and nails coming off as a result of ingury is very common. I hope you get your answer one way or another soon. Take her to see a doctor as soon as possible Flowers

I did think that maybe the doctor got scarlet fever wrong, and maybe it was HFM, as like you say a lot of it going about. I don’t know though, n guess it’s too late now to know either way. Do they get tonsillitis with HFM? She hasn’t had any trauma or injury to her nails. N there’s no bruising etc. She’s still waiting on her 12month injections so will mention it then. She’s not bothered at all in the slightest, and apart from teeth comingthrough and the odd grizzly session with those, she’s her usual happy self
