Concern Mother! Regarding grommets

Hi,

To keep a long story short, my 6 year old son had a grommets inserted 3 days ago. Thankfully the operation was successful and the doctor told me that he took lots of liquid out of my son ears. I have been advice to avoid swimming for 6 weeks and when given a shower to cover his ears with cotton ball. Stupid me I forgot to cover his ears when I gave him a shower one day later after the operation.

My question is will this cause any harms or infection in his ears? Totally freaking out now.

Don't worry! Ds has had grommets 3 times, and when he first had them he removed the "clouds" from his ears when we were washing his hair as he was too young to understand on several times.
